To begin I looked at how the homepage would function from my sketches I came up with three ideas of how the user could begin. Each front page uses a different approach and is fundamental to the entire website look and feel. Idea 1 focuses primarily on type and information with simple interactions, the content being the main element. Idea two focuses firstly on the function then on the content doing this through hierarchies. Idea three uses visuals as the key component with content being primary and content generator being second.

Layout 1

The first is based on content first in the form of a type so the user would decide on what they would like to look at first from the title name, once the cursor is hovering it would reveal the exhibition poster. This method of layout works because users are choosing content from language over visual but reveals more allowing a sense of wonderment and engagement

Layout 2
This Layout focuses primarily the function of the website which would be to generate random layouts for content that has been input to the website as explained in my previous post. This very simply will have the main button focused for easy use of the website, to see additional information users will need to scroll which would then unfold exhibition after exhibition ordered by date created.

Layout 3

This front page pays particular attention to visual stimulation to entice users, with simple cards laid out to host the exhibition poster. Users will instantly get a feel for the content from this image with the name appearing when hovered over. An about page will be easily accessible by filling the half sections when clicked. To generate, your own 'exhibition' users will have to simply scroll to the next section.

 FeedBack

  • Visual approach is more interesting
  • Content generator should be second

This section begins to explore the ways the software could generate random grids from certain rules.
